eCommerce Agency in Kenya that Understands What it Takes to Sell Online.

Selling online in Kenya has never had more potential. With mobile internet penetration growing rapidly and more Kenyan consumers shopping online every year, the opportunity for businesses to reach customers beyond their physical location is enormous. But a poorly built online store can cost you more in lost sales than it saves you in setup costs.

At Afrecce, we design and develop eCommerce websites that are built to convert – not just to look good. Every store we build is tailored to your specific products, your target customers, and your business goals. Whether you’re launching your first online shop or migrating from an outdated platform, we’ll build you a store that works as hard as you do.

We specialise in two platforms: WooCommerce and Shopify and we’ll help you choose the right one for your business before we write a single line of code.

WooCommerce

WooCommerce is a free, open-source eCommerce plugin built on WordPress – the same platform we use for all our web design projects. It’s our preferred choice for businesses that want complete control over their store, unlimited customisation, and no ongoing platform fees eating into their margins.

WooCommerce is ideal for businesses with large or complex product catalogues, those who want to own their data entirely, and anyone planning to scale aggressively over time. It also integrates seamlessly with Kenya’s most popular payment gateways, including M-Pesa, PesaLink, and major card processors.

The trade-off is that it requires more technical setup than Shopify, which is exactly where Afrecce comes in. We handle all the complexity so you get the power of WooCommerce with none of the headaches.

02

Shopify

Shopify is a fully hosted eCommerce platform that takes care of your hosting, security, and software updates automatically. It’s the fastest route to getting a store live – we can typically launch a custom Shopify store within 4 weeks.

Shopify is ideal for businesses that want a clean, reliable platform with minimal ongoing technical maintenance, or those launching a focused product range and wanting to move quickly. The trade-off is a monthly platform subscription fee and slightly less flexibility for complex customisation.

We start with a suitable Shopify theme and fully customise it to match your brand — so you still get a unique, professional store that feels nothing like an off-the-shelf template.

Who We Build eCommerce Stores For.

We build online stores for businesses across Kenya in a wide range of industries. If you have something to sell, we can build you a store to sell it. Some of the most common types of eCommerce projects we take on include:

Fashion and clothing brands looking to sell locally and internationally. Beauty, skincare and health product businesses. Food and grocery businesses moving online. Electronics and gadgets retailers. Handmade, artisan and craft sellers. B2B businesses selling supplies, equipment or services online. Brick-and-mortar retailers extending their reach with an online store.

No matter how many products you have, whether it’s 5 or 5,000 – we can build a store that handles it.

eCommerce Website Costs in Kenya?

Our eCommerce projects start from KES 210,000, with most projects ranging between KES 230,000 and KES 450,000 depending on scope. The final cost depends on factors such as the platform chosen (WooCommerce or Shopify), the number of products and categories, the complexity of the design, the payment gateways required, and any additional integrations or custom functionality.

We work on a fixed-cost model with milestone-based payments, so you always know what you’re paying and when. No surprise invoices at the end of the project.

Ongoing costs after launch will depend on your hosting plan (for WooCommerce sites) or your Shopify subscription, plus any optional Afrecce SiteCare maintenance package.

eCommerce refers to any website that sells products or services online. Essentially, any website that allows users to make online purchases is considered an eCommerce website.

The majority of our website projects start from KES 230,000, but eCommerce project costs will depend on the final scope of work and vary from project to project. We generally have a minimum eCommerce project size of KES 210,000 and prefer to agree a fixed cost with agreed milestone payments.

We believe in partnering with clients who share our vision. If you’re looking to enhance your brand online and are aligned with our approach, we’d love to collaborate. When it comes to budget, the best way to determine if a project is feasible is by sharing your budget with us before hand. This allows us to recommend the most effective ways to allocate your resources.

We understand that some stores may have limited stock or a small product range, while others offer a vast and diverse inventory. There’s no set number of products required to create an online store, if you have something to sell, we can handle the rest.

To rank on Google or other search engines, your eCommerce website needs proper SEO optimization. At Afrecce, we offer expert SEO services to improve your site’s visibility and rankings.
